Consignments

Tonewood & Courage does bring select instruments in on consignment. We have had several successful win-win-win consignment sales for our consignees, our customers and Tonewood & Courage.

To start and facilitate the consignment process, we ask that you email a consignment inquiry with three to five good photographs of the instrument you are interested in consigning, along with the make, model, year, and if possible, serial number of the instrument to info@tonewoodandcourage.com. Please do not bring your instrument into the shop to discuss consignment without an agreement of interest from us first. If we are interested in bringing your instrument into our shop for a consignment sale, we will contact you via email in response to your inquiry.

If Tonewood & Courage agrees to take on your instrument for consignment, we locally market and hand-sell your instrument, as well as promotes your instrument via our internet shop. Tonewood & Courage also cleans and adjusts your instrument prior to placing onto our sales floor. If needed prior to placing your instrument for sale, we will discuss with you certain minor or major repairs. Due to overhead, insurance, flooring and marketing costs, our consignment fee is a straight 25% of the gross sales price. In working with you on setting a realistic price for the sale of the instrument on consignment, Tonewood & Courage uses various online resources for comparable pricing details and trends and suggest that you do the same prior to a consignment inquiry.
